Dan(s)e house and constellations è l’undicesima di dodici produzioni internazionali che sono state realizzate e coprodotte da altrettanti tandem produttivi nella cornice del progetto europeo Stronger Peripheries: A Southern Coalition. L’arboreto – Teatro Dimora è stato scelto come luogo di residenza creativa per sette di queste produzioni.

Hamdi Dridi / Cie Chantiers Publics (TUN/FR) è la compagnia selezionata per l’undicesimo tandem di produzione che vede coinvolti come co-produttori: Occitanie en Scène – Montpellier (France) & Théâtre + Cinéma, Scène Nationale Grand Narbonne (France), Transversal & Teatre Principal de Vilanova i Geltru (Spain), L’arboreto – Teatro Dimora di Mondaino (Italia).

Dopo la prima residenza creativa a Narbonne e la seconda a Vilanova i Geltru durante le quali Hamdi si è concentrato sulla creazione del solo performato da Ewa Bielak e ha lavorato con le comunità locali di donne (in Francia) e di pescatori (in Spagna), dal 27 agosto all’8 settembre proseguirà le ricerche per Dan(s)e house and constellations presso il Teatro Dimora di Mondaino incontrando e lavorando con la comunità locale e focalizzandosi sull’estensione del solo per comporre un trio.

Un’opportunità luminosa per colmare il divario.
Una celebrazione per i vivi.
Un evento globale di musica, cucina e danza per riunire le persone in un gesto comune, di incontro, abbraccio, sentimento, cura, condivisione.
Una celebrazione gioiosa come manifesto, ognuno coinvolto nello stesso processo di stare insieme alla DANS(E) HOUSE.

L’artista lavorerà alla composizione di un trio scenico come estensione dell’assolo creato per Ewa Bielak (danzatrice, coreografa, DJ) nel febbraio 2024 a Tunisi. Tre donne parteciperanno a questa nuova Dan(s)e house combinando danza, musica e cucina, in quanto donne artiste e cittadine del mondo. La performance sarà un divertente tributo alle donne progettato attraverso le loro percezioni comuni, il modo in cui guardano al mondo, all’altro, agli altri, attraverso la condivisione delle loro culture, dei loro ricordi, delle loro storie.

Hamdi Dridi prevede creerà una trama coreografica luminosa e gioiosa attraverso l’astrazione, fondendo hip hop, danza contemporanea e danze tradizionali. Le performer inviteranno il pubblico nella loro “casa”, dove il groove, le pulsazioni, le vibrazioni sonore accentueranno l’intimità dei loro atti. Sarà un’esultante ode ritmica quella che verrà eseguita sul palco.

HAMDI DRIDI – artista tunisino, vive a Montpellier dove ha fondato la sua compagnia Cie Chantiers Publics nel 2018. Come coreografo, si presenta come un architetto di spazi incrociati tra musica e danza; convoca corpi in quadri coreografici che associano astrazione e simbolismo operativo del gesto. Con la Cie Chantiers Publics, articola e affina il suo metodo di lavoro, sperimenta gli strumenti del suo approccio, precisa i suoi percorsi di scrittura, inscrive la sua firma, in una lenta interrogazione dei materiali musicali, sonori, coreografici e visivi che convoca. I progetti della Cie Chantiers Publics sono concepiti attraverso la loro struttura e circolazione, in Occitania, in Francia e a livello internazionale, per promuovere il percorso di un artista che incarna lo spirito dello scambio. Dal Mont Rouge di Tunisi a Montpellier, Berlino, Roma, Beirut, dalla danza hip-hop a quella contemporanea, passando per la combinazione delle due, Hamdi Dridi costruisce un percorso di artista, autore, uomo tra due sponde del mediterraneo e tra continenti. Hamdi Dridi percorre le piste del mondo, in una corsa lenta e assertiva, aprendo la danza a percezioni plurali, per meglio cogliere i gesti operai che costituiscono la sostanza della sua scrittura. È un artista che lavora tra i continenti.

as part of Stronger Peripheries: A Southern Coalition, a project supported by Creative Europe

Dan(s)e house and constellations is the eleventh of twelve international productions that have been created and co-produced by as many production tandems within the framework of the European project Stronger Peripheries: A Southern Coalition. L’arboreto – Teatro Dimora was chosen as the creative residency site for seven of these productions.

Hamdi Dridi | Cie Chantiers Publics is the company selected for the eleventh production tandem involving as co-producers: Occitanie en Scène – Montpellier (France) & Théâtre + Cinéma, Scène Nationale Grand Narbonne (France), Transversal & Teatre Principal de Vilanova i Geltru (Spain), L’arboreto – Teatro Dimora di Mondaino (Italy).

After the first creative residency in Narbonne and the second in Vilanova i Geltru during which Hamdi focused on the creation of the solo performed by Ewa Bielak and worked with local communities of women (in France) and fishermen (in Spain), from Sept. 27 to Aug. 8 he will continue his research for Dan(s)e house and constellations at Teatro Dimora di Mondaino meeting and working with the local community and focusing on extending the solo to compose a trio.

A bright opportunity to bridge the gap.
A celebration to the living.
A global music, cooking, dance event to gather people into a common gesture, movement, of meeting, embracing, feeling, taking care, sharing.
A joyful celebration as a manifest, each one involved into a process of being together with/through DANS(E) HOUSE.

The artist will work on the composition of a stage trio, as extension of the solo created for Ewa Bielak (dancer, choreographer, DJ), in February 2024 in Tunis. Three women will take part in this new Dan(s)e house opus, through a combination of dance, music and cuisine, as women artists and citizens of the world. The performance will be a groovy tribute to the women designed through their joint perceptions, the way they look to the world, to the other, to others, through the sharing of their cultures, their memories, their stories.

Hamdi Dridi will create a bright and joyful choreographic storyline through abstraction, playing with hip hop, contemporary dance and traditional dances fusing together. The women performers will invite the audience in their “house”, where the groove, pulsations, and vibrations accentuate the intimacy of their acts. It will be a jubilant rhythmic ode performed on stage.

HAMDI DRIDI – Tunisian artist, lives in Montpellier where he established his company Cie Chantiers Publics in 2018. As a choreographer, he presents himself as an architect of crossed spaces between music and dance; he convenes bodies at work, in constructions that give presence to his choreographic framework, in a form of narration that associates abstraction and operative symbolism of gesture. With the Cie Chantiers Publics, he articulates and hones his work method, experiments with the tools conducive to his approach, specifies his writing paths, inscribes his signature, in a slow questioning of musical, sound, choreographic and visual materials that he summons. The Cie Chantiers Publics projects are designed through their structure and circulation, in Occitanie, in France and internationally, to promote the path of an artist who embodies the spirit of exchange. From the Mont Rouge in Tunis to Montpellier, Berlin, Rome, Beirut, from hip-hop dance to contemporary dance, and the combination of the two, Hamdi Dridi builds a path of artist, author, man, between two shores, Mediterranean in essence, with his Arab identity, which he approaches in his choreographic compositions, while inscribing his signature in the resonant paths between music and dance. Hamdi Dridi travels the tracks of the world, in a slow and assertive race, opening dance from plural perceptives, to better grasp the worker gestures that constitute the substance of his writing, in choreographic materials that he wearies out with jubilation to capture the essential flows of our presence to each other, to others. He is an artist working between continents.

La Southern Coalition è una rete informale che riunisce undici organizzazioni che lavorano nel mondo delle performing arts e tre istituzioni di ricerca di dieci paesi europei. Una rete che collega le pratiche culturali che operano a livello locale, con l’obiettivo di superare l’isolamento e aumentare le competenze di artisti, operatori e pubblico.

Stronger Peripheries è il primo progetto della Southern Coalition, creato da 3 dei 14 partner nel quadro di A Manual on Work and Happiness, un progetto co-finanziato dal programma Creative Europe dell’Unione Europea.

The Southern Coalition is an informal network that brings together eleven organizations working in the performing arts and three research institutions from ten European countries. A network that connects cultural practices working locally, with the aim of overcoming isolation and increasing the skills of artists, practitioners and audiences.

Stronger Peripheries is the first project of the Southern Coalition, created by 3 of the 14 partners as part of A Manual on Work and Happiness, a project co-funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe program.
